About

I am an iconographer, deacon, and teacher who believes that every icon begins in prayer. My work is shaped by beauty, tradition, and a deep reverence for the stories held within each icon. I love teaching workshops and retreats where beginners and seasoned artists alike can learn technique, explore the spiritual meaning behind the work, and experience the peace that comes from this ancient practice. I believe fully that God guides my hand in every icon through prayer and study.
I began my study of iconography in 2009. I was tutored for three years under Judith Kaestner in Oconomowoc, WI. I was ordained in 2021 to the sacred order of Deacons in the Episcopal Church. The methodology I use comes from the Russian Orthodox founder of the Prosopon School of Iconography, Vladislav Andrejev. My first icon was Archangel Michael in egg tempera Byzantine style and is my preferred method of icon writing. I have also studied with Greek Icon Master Theodoros Papadopoulos.
My hope is to share the spiritual peace and joy that comes from the practice of icon writing in workshops, instruction, and retreats. Each of my icons have a story, and specific prayerful intention. I look forward to sharing my journey with you. My work is available through commissions, week long retreats, and one day workshop opportunities.
