Join Dcn. Marcia Allison, for a free workshop. This session will include learning how icons are used as instruments of prayer and spiritual contemplation, helping you focus on divine realities.
Are you struggling with grief or a difficult decision? Or perhaps you want go deeper with Advent as a preparation for our coming Lord. Dcn. Marcia will share meditations on using icons, how they are not just art but instruments of prayer and spiritual contemplation, helping you focus on divine realities. In this session, you can learn not only how icons can help you in your difficult journey, but you will take home your own icon of Mary using a simple step-by-step technique with pencils and gel pens. Mary offers strength and solace as you explore this practice. Rather than just an image, icons are seen as a "window to heaven," enabling a more profound, conversational connection with the divine. The profound love and tenderness of Mary inspires lasting confidence with her intercession and maternal care.

Deepen your spiritual journey through Holy Week with the disciplined practice of prayer through iconography.
The workshop will be held in the Guild room of Grace Episcopal Church. Grace is located at 120 E 1st Street Hinsdale, IL 60521. We will begin with morning prayer in the chapel.
Limited seating available. Cost $350 payable in advance - deposit of $100 will hold your slot and is refundable with 1 week notice of cancelation. Light lunch is included.
